NY Post Gunned down Chimpanzee – Is it Racist?
Do me a favor and look at the following:
I ran across this mess maybe 15 – 20 minutes ago. My initial reaction to this cartoon was “damn, that’s pretty f#)*$ up”. One can think that this cartoon depicts a racial implication that Obama is the dead monkey being referenced in this piece. I thought so initially, but I started to read several different blogs, comments, articles discussing this and it’s possibly not. In light of recent events, it did slip my mind that a woman was severely mangled and mauled by a crazed chimpanzee this week, but if that was the case, why does this cartoon mention the stimulus bill proposed by Obama? I don’t know, I honestly could twist it around and reference this cartoon to the senseless shootings that have made news recently about shitty cops killing unarmed minorities. Truth be told, only the author knows his true intentions and thoughts on publishing this piece, albeit it was done in poor taste.
